Swimmer Legs
Using Dryland to Create Better Kicking
Powerful legs not only help you jump farther off the block, increase speed through your swim and create faster turns, but also creates balance between your kick and pull. This balance allows you to swim faster for longer periods and can make or break your performance.
A great way to strengthen your legs is with plyometrics.- jump training. These exercises are used to help increase your speed, endurance, and strength. Excellent for swimmers. Why are they so important? Lateral jumps stabilize the knees, hips, and feet joints, while also strengthening the ankle muscles. The side to side movement increases coordination between thighs and legs.
